Families in Crisis;Foster Care
Speaker, Alex Corbitt, is a long-time advocate and “hero” for children. He will be talking about the children in our community that need our help and interviewing panels of local organizations that provide opportunities for you to be a family hero. The PURE Initiative is based on James 1:27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” Help us look after children by being there for the whole family and assisting families before the children become modern day orphans when possible. You can help Protect, Uplift, and REbuild the family unit by being volunteers, parents, advocates, and friends.

Homeschool Practicum
Classical Conversations • Morning sessions on classical education • Afternoon activities on teaching history • Book representatives on-site • Student camps Join veteran homeschooling parents for three days of encouragement and inspiration as we seek to understand the classical model of education and learn how to apply it in Christian homeschooling. This year we will be navigating history from a classical perspective as we learn the art of argumentation. Leigh Bortins wrote in The Question, "The purpose of history, then, is to give us identity, motivation, and meaning for who we are and what we are meant to do and be." Discover how to invigorate your family's history studies through facts, stories, maps, and debates as you marvel at the grand arc of God's redemption.

Alternative Gift Market
"Act locally. Impact globally!" The Wichita Alternative Gift Market is a community-wide event hosted by dozens of local congregations the second Saturday of November. It features charitable gifts, fair-trade products and more. Join us at EHUMC for our 22nd annual market! "Gifts inspiring change." Alternative gifts do exactly what traditional ones do: express love, celebrate occasions and show you care. But they’re different: things like food for US pantries, education for Kenyan girls, or milking goats for Haitian families. You can purchase these tax-deductible gifts in honor of your loved ones, then present them with a beautiful greeting card including a gift insert describing the project you supported.
