Nick's Treasure Toy Drive
Nick's Treasure is a toy drive to honor our late son, Nicholas Birchett (forever 15 1/2) who passed away in a car accident December 15, 2011. To honor Nick for his birthday, May 28th, we collect toys to donate to St Anthony's Hospital, and this year we are hoping to collect enough to include the Unzner Center for abused children.
Our hope is that even if just for one second we can help these children forget about the pain they are going through in life (weather physical or emotional, and give them a smile.
It's our way of allowing Nicholas' smile to live on.
Small, new, unwrapped toys.
Also, on May 25th, we will be at Firelake Discount foods for a drop off site and due tot he generosity of Citizen Potawatomi Nation we will be selling hotdogs and drinks for $1 each. ALL money raised will go directly to buying more toys.

We are now in our 10th month of revival! It is truly an exciting time here at the Lighthouse and we are full of expectancy to see Him move in the lives of His people and this country. A chamber group comprised of fifteen members of the Africa University Choir and the choir director will be in the USA from May 25th to June 17th. The choir’s 2013 tour schedule includes itineration in local churches as well as performances at the Oklahoma Annual Conference and Indiana Annual Conference gatherings. The choir will also take part in this year’s centenary celebrations at The Lake Junaluska Assembly, with a performance at the opening worship service of the 2013 Lake Junaluska Summer Worship Series and an evening concert on June 16th.
The touring choir features students from various African countries, all with a passion for music ministry. Its repertoire is drawn from the African praise and worship tradition and features songs in more than 18 languages, including English, French, Portuguese, Swahili (East and Central Africa); Shona and Ndebele (Zimbabwe); Zulu (South Africa); and Lingala (Democratic Republic of Congo). These songs speak of abiding faith in the face of trials and celebrate the fullness of God’s love. They inspire movement and are often joyful expressions of gratitude and hope in Almighty God.
The director of the Africa University Choir, Mr. Tendekai Kuture, is a distinguished Zimbabwean choral conductor. He is head of the Department of Music in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Africa University.

The Love Run
This poker run is open to ALL, motorcycle & car enthusiasts alike (last year we even had a bicyclist join us on the first leg of the run!) All wheels welcome!
Registration begins at 10am at Oklahoma's oldest bar and chicken shack, Eischen's in Okarche, Oklahoma, with last bikes out by 11am. We'll see a bit of historic Route 66 along the ride and will end the day at the Center of Family Love with a concert and cookout. Here you'll have the chance to meet many of the folks that you are supporting with this ride.
All proceeds go to support CFL's mission of providing quality lifetime care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Registration is $25 for riders/ drivers and $5 for passengers.

"Chalk the Walk" Art Festival
Come join us for the 2nd annual sidewalk chalk art festival, "Chalk the Walk" on Saturday, June 15th of Father’s Day Weekend, from 10 am to 2 pm. Christmas Market Oklahoma
A German themed Christmas festival will be held on the square of First Lutheran Church and School. Come enjoy the sights, sounds and aromas of Christmas as we prepare for the holiday season. In-state and out-of-state vendors will be selling a huge variety of unique gifts, arts and crafts. There will be all day musical performances by local church choirs, school groups and individuals. Ethnic food, photos with Santa, and a Cookie Walk with hundreds of cookies will also be featured. Proceeds benefit the First Lutheran
School scholarship fund. The festival is handicap accessible and admission is free.
